RiverTowne Country Club is truly a Lowcountry masterpiece. Originally known as Parker's Island, RiverTowne Country Club was purchased by The Ginn Company in May 1999.

In the early eighteenth century, the Parker Family owned the island. But by the turn of the century the Horlbeck Family purchased the island and converted a small portion of Parker's Island into a brickyard. The brick from this and other brickyards along the Wando River supplied the downtown Charleston movement from wood to brick construction. But as the brickyard movement came to rest, so did Parkers Island. By acquiring the Parker's Island property in 1999, The Ginn Company set forth to develop RiverTowne Country Club, Charleston's first Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course.

RiverTowne's upscale appeal offers home-owners a country club setting while allowing the general public an opportunity to treat themselves to the Palmer experience.

Personally designed by the towering legend of the game, the 18-hole championship course includes 13 holes that wind along the Wando River and Horlbeck Creek. The five sets of tees on this 7,200-yard venue provide spectacular challenges that are meant to deliver a memorable golfing experience to every player of the game.

Everyone from local Charleston golfers to visitors and guests will find RiverTowne Country Club the place to play in Charleston.
